Travel Tips

Entry/Exit Requirements:
A passport and visa are required for travel to Tanzania. U.S. citizens with valid passports must obtain a visa before arriving in Tanzania or at any port of entry staffed by immigration officials. U.S. passports must be valid for a minimum six months beyond the date the visa is obtained, whether it is acquired beforehand or at the port of entry.

Immunization/Health:
The U.K. Department of Health recommends vaccinations against hepatitis A and B, Polio and Typhoid. Tanzania is considered a high risk area for Malaria. Visitors are advised to become familiar with oral medication available and other preventative measures i.e. clothing, insect sprays, and lotions.

International Airports:
International airport flights serve Dar Es Salaam, eight miles from the center of the city Kilimanjaro, 31 miles from Arusha. Zanzibar airport is five miles from Kisauni.
